On the softtop latch, where it connects to the bow of the windshield there is a plastic protective cap. This serves not only to prevent scratching in the striker plate, but also to ensure a good fit.

On the right latch it is off completely:

So I ordered two new ones at my local dealership (a few Euros a piece).

Replacement is easy:
Use a Philips head screwdriver to undo the three screws that attach the latch to the hood frame.
Next undo the small screw that holds the end-cap. Put the new one on. And fit the latch on the frame again.

Voilá, as new:
